Obituary

Mrs. Agnes Rogers Wilcher, age 81, beloved wife of the late John Franklin Wilcher of Adrian, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2025 at her home.

Born in Treutlen County, she was the eldest daughter of eight children born to the late Jimmy Spurgeon Rogers and Mattie Bell Cammack Rogers.  She grew up in Treutlen County and was a graduate of Treutlen County High School.   In 1961, she married John F. Wilcher of Treutlen County.  Mrs. Wilcher had worked in the Textile Industry for many years, retiring from Forstmann as a Quality Control Inspector in 2005.  Her husband, to whom she was married for over fifty years worked for the Treutlen County Road Dept. and passed away in 2012.   Mr. and Mrs. Wilcher worked hard, together, to provide for their family, but also to instill the same work ethic in their children that they had been taught by their parents.

Mrs. Wilcher was always of the holiness faith and had been a longtime member of the Pine Hill Holiness Church.  She was a sweet spirited God fearing woman, a devoted prayer warrior that  possessed a strong faith in her God and possessed the unique gift of enriching every life that she touched.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by siblings, J. B. Rogers, LaFaye Rogers, Ronnie Rogers, Maynard Rogers, Annie Bell Stapleton and Patsy Maddox.

She leaves behind her children, Kenneth "Kenny" Wilcher (Sheila), Adrian, GA, Connie Price (Vince), Adrian, GA, her last living sister, Sandra Wilcher (Newborn) of Adrian, five grandchildren, Ashley Graham, Frankie Lawrence (Ashley), Kensy Wilcher (Dustin), Anna Reigh Bridges (Jay), Dillion Price (Shanell), eight great grandchildren, Kaden Graham, Johnny Johnson, Gavin Lawrence, Jake Johnson, Kayson Lawrence, Jenna Kate Johnson, Ayden Combs, Daylen Price and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Maddox and Pastor Charles Parrish officiating.

Mrs. Wilcher will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Stevie Stapleton, Brent McCoy, Stan McCoy, Jimmy Sharpe Jr., Daryl "D.J." Smith and Maynard Edenfield.

Her family will be receiving friends on Sunday, at Sammons Funeral Home, from 1:00 o'clock p. m. until the hour of service or friends and family may call at her residence.
