Obituary

Alan Michael Pruitt, age 21 of Rockledge passed away on Monday morning, September 2, 2024 at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia.

Born in Vidalia, he was the only son and the eldest of two children born to Waylon Michael Pruitt and Cheryl Ann Fisher Pruitt.   Since the age of two, Alan has been raised by and been the legal child of, an aunt, Betty Jean Frost.  He grew up in Laurens County and attended the East Laurens Public School System.  Alan had worked at the Telfair Shell Service Station in Dublin.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time spent with his family.

Alan is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ricky Charles Frost and Eva Faye Pruitt Frost and his maternal grandparents, C. W. and Mildred Frost.

He leaves behind a son, Glenn Henderson, Columbia, TN, his mother, Betty Jean Frost, Rockledge, GA, his father, Waylon Pruitt (Melissa), Soperton, GA, his biological mother, Cheryl Burdick (Tony), East Dublin, GA, siblings, Destiny Gillis (Tyler), Rockledge, GA, Lee Powell, Angelia Bush, Holley McCoy, Rose Mary Hughes, Hunter Williams, Travis Neal, Johnathan King, Savannah King, Thomas McCoy, Austin Rathburn (Lorena), Candace Rathburn (Easton), Sara Sigman Carter, a special aunt, Jessica Walker, nieces and nephews, Annie Faith "Pumpkin" Pruitt, Emma Mullis, Brayden Walker, Kamden Walker, close friends, "Papa Otis" Otis McCoy (Burnice) of East Dublin, Criss Finch and Brenda Craton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Troy Maddox Jr. officiating.

Alan will be laid to rest in the Frost Family Cemetery in Rockledge.

His family will receive friends on Saturday at Sammons Funeral Home, from 10:00 o'clock am until the hour of service or friends and family may call at the home of Betty Jean Frost or at the home of his father.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Charles Brooks, Nathan Aaron, Chase Brooks, Otis McCoy, Michael Pruitt and Tommy Heath.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to Betty Jean Frost.
