Obituary

Mrs. Ann Morris, age 89 departed her earthly home and entered her heavenly home from her son's residence (Michael) in Wrightsville on Sunday morning, January 23, 2022.

Born in Treutlen County she was one of four children born to the late Buddy L. Phillips and Nora Davis Phillips.  She attended school in Treutlen County and married at the young age of fifteen.  Mrs. Morris was a mother of eleven children, a loving and nurturing homemaker and worked at Soperton Manufacturing during the summer months.  She stayed busy sewing and mending children's clothes, cooking and helping her husband farm and raise hogs.  Mrs. Morris loved entertaining, playing games,  having fun with her children and their friends and growing Zinnias.

She attended the Union Grove Calvary Holiness Church in Wrightsville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tunney W. Morris, a son, Donnie Craig Morris, siblings: Buddy Ray Phillips, Katheleen Sammons, Doris Edge and a granddaughter, Crystal Morris.

Mrs. Morris leaves behind, her children, Connie Ely (Carlton), Cathy McCullough, Bruce Morris (Teresa) all of Soperton, Shirley Salter (Lonnie), Lorraine Morgan (Charles) all of Toombs County, Warren Morris, Moultrie, GA, Randy Morris (Cindy), Bulloch County, Peggy Yates, Atlanta, GA, Michael Morris (Gail), Wrightsville, GA, Billy Morris (Lorenda), Tarrytown, GA, John P. Morris, Semmes, AL, thirty two grandchildren and sixty great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Yeomans and Donnie Morris officiating.

Mrs. Morris will be laid to rest beside her husband in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Brent Morris officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ron and Dave Salter, Kenneth Ely, Steven and Allen Morris, Jonathan and Jason Morris, Craig Phillips, Jeff and Greg Morgan, Shane Dornburg, Nathaniel McCullough, Justin and Jared Morris and James and Eddie Morris.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8 :00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home.
