Mrs. Audrey Faye Avery Brantley, 83, of Adrian died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mrs. Brantley was born in Emanuel County on October 30, 1933 and lived most of her life in Adrian.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Brantley; her parents, Ernest and Maggie Bell Foskey Avery; sister, Ernestine Avery Wilson; and brother, La Fon Avery. She was a member of the Adrian High School Class of 1950, and was retired from J.P. Stevens, East Dublin.  She was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Natha Lodesky, Fernandina, FL and La Nelle Wyatt, Newnan; brother, Wayne (Ina) Avery, Soperton; a brother-in-law, W. J. Wilson, Lake Sinclair; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20 in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Veal officiating.  Burial will be in Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, Adrian.

Pallbearers will be nephews, David Avery, Alan Avery, Richard Avery, Chandler Avery, Robert Chafin and John Avery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday and may be reached at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Avery, 1869 Florida Avenue, Soperton.
