Berry Nolan
Edge
Aug 29, 1949 — Feb 6, 2021
Dublin
Mr. Berry Nolan Edge, age 71, beloved husband of Margaret Martin Edge of Dublin, Georgia passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, February 6, 2021.
Born in Dublin, Georgia he was the youngest of two sons born to the late Enmon and Mary Jo Logan Edge. He and his brother grew up in Soperton until the family moved to Macon in 1954. Berry graduated from Willingham High School in Macon, Class of 1969. After high school, Berry was inducted into the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam from where he was honorably discharged in 1973. He returned to Macon and began a long career as a Machinist and Tool and Die Maker. He worked during the day and attended trade school at night. In 1983, he moved to Lake Sinclair. After settling at the lake, he joined Grumman Aerospace which through the next thirty years merged with Northrup and Vought Aerospace, before eventually being owned by Triumph Aerospace; from where he retired as a Senior Tool and Die Maker in 2010. In 1986, he married childhood friend, Margaret Ann Martin. They lived at the lake until moving to Dublin in 2011.
Berry was meticulous in everything he did. If he could see it, he could make it. He and Margaret enjoyed camping at the beach on the Gulf Coast, time hunting, fishing and woodworking. His level of detail enabled him to build grandchildren baby beds and playpens that have become family heirlooms.
He was very patriotic and proud of his service to his country.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Edge.
