Mrs. Bettie Jane Williams Fountain, age 89 of Adrian passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 11, 2018 at Scott Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scott, Georgia.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Adrian United Methodist Church with Reverends Tommy Veal and Mark Harden officiating.

Mrs. Fountain will be laid to rest, privately, beside her husband in the Hutcheson Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home and on Friday immediately following the service, at the church.

Born in Johnson County, she was the youngest and last living of seven children born to the late Cleveland and Fleeta Pullen Williams. After graduating from high school in Kite, Class of 1946, she attended Brewton Parker College and Georgia Southern from where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She began her career as a 1 ^st grade teacher in 1950 in Hoboken. In October of 1950 she married Robert Quincy Fountain Sr.   She later taught in Scott and Adrian from where she retired after 30 years in 1981.

She enjoyed teaching, gardening, flowers, working out of doors, fishing, cooking and above all; being a grandmother. She will be well remembered for her pound cakes.

Mrs. Fountain had been a member of Minton's Chapel Church in Kite and Adrian United Methodist Church in Adrian.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fountain Sr. who passed away in March of 1999, her siblings, infant Carl Williams, Carlton Williams, Ray Williams, Louise Greenway, Louie Williams and Jack Williams.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Fountain Jr., Adrian, GA, J. David Fountain (Kathie Morgan Fountain), Matthews, NC, two adoring granddaughters Brooke Fountain, Charlotte, NC and Kelli Fountain Matthews, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
