Mrs. Betty Moxley Lewis, age 82 of Soperton, passed away on Saturday evening while being loved and cared for by the staff at Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Soperton, she was the last living of five children born to the late Leonard and Julia Smith Dorsey.  She was a lifelong resident of Soperton except for a few short years spent in Florida in the mid 1970s.   She had worked as a Seamstress at the Soperton Shirt Factory as well as Woolrich until retiring.

Mrs. Moxley Lewis enjoyed cooking; especially favorite dishes for each guest sitting at her table.  She enjoyed time spent with family, fishing, deer hunting and watching (Freddie) racing cars also watching   her grandson Sean play baseball and attending his baseball games.

She had attended Red Bluff Baptist Church and the Soperton Church of God.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Moxley, who passed away in 1987, siblings, Ray Dorsey, Freddie Dorsey, Gladys Harell, Claudie Mae Powell, and two sons, Roy Gene Moxley, Malcolm Moxley and a daughter, Betty Nell Poole.

She leaves behind, a son, Wayne Moxley (Jackie), Lake Wales, FL, two daughters, Ann Gillis, Soperton, GA, Denise Moxley, Soperton, GA, daughters in law, Jackie Moxley, Pam Moxley and a son in law, Greg Poole, eight grandchildren, Jerad Moxley, Derek Moxley, Chrissy Moxley Morgan, Jennifer Moxley, Debbie McCullough, Jason Morris, Sedina Chalker, Sean Padgett, sixteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from the graveside in Tarrytown Cemetery.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband.
