Mrs. Betty Frances "Doll" Brantley Phillips, a native of Treutlen County passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side, on Sunday morning March 9, 2025, in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
The daughter of the late Tullie Ozark Brantley and Tennessee Virginia Tyler, she was the youngest and last living of eleven children in the family. Miss Betty grew up near Sandhill Lake and was a graduate of Treutlen County High School, Class of 1956. She served as the Associate Editor of the Soperton News from 1963 until 1973. She later worked in a clerical role at the Swainsboro Hospital, Doctor's Hospital in Atlanta and Ferrell Trucking in Decatur before joining Hickory Farms. She worked with Hickory Farms of Ohio as a Manager at the DeKalb Mall in Decatur and the Lennox Mall in Atlanta until retiring in 1986, after twenty five years of service. She returned to Soperton where she remained until moving to Laurens County in 1991.
Miss Betty was a former member at the Soperton First Baptist Church and Harmony Baptist Church in Soperton as well as Bethsaida Baptist Church and the First Independent Methodist Church of Dublin.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty five years, Larry Wyman Phillips, who passed away in June of 2018, her siblings and a great grandson, Justin Jerrell. .
Miss Betty leaves behind, her daughters, Frances Perry (Mitchell), Tifton, Georgia, Sharon Blaine (Michael), Blue Ridge, Georgia, her grandchildren, April Rogers, Bakersfield, CA, Sandie Green (Shane), Tifton, GA, Michael Perry (Amanda), Ashburn, GA, Morgan Blaine, Blue Ridge, GA, Jennifer Blaine, Concord, NC, her great grandchildren, Blake Rogers (Sara), Reece Green (Hannah), Jake Perry (Erin), Ben Perry, Rivers Perry, her great great grandchildren, Cohen and Cooper Green, Ryder and Oakley Rogers, Everleigh Perry, several nieces and nephews to include Sue Cowart (Billy) of St. Mary's, GA.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from the graveside in Westview Cemetery as she was laid to rest beside her husband.
