Obituary

Mr. Billy Pierce Holton, age 79, beloved husband of Wynoka Braddy Holton of Soperton passed away on Monday afternoon, March 2, 2026 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.

Born in Treutlen County, he was the youngest and last living of five children born to the late Pierce and Bertchie Mae Phillips Holton.  At the age of thirteen, a young Treutlen County native, Cora Wynoka Braddy caught his attention and remained the "Apple of his Eye" until agreeing to become his wife, at the age of nineteen, in 1966.  Billy attended Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro where he earned his Associates and Bachelors Degrees in Business Administration before climbing the ladder to becoming a self-made successful businessman.  He began his journey working and learning the freight distribution and logistics industry in Augusta and Macon. During the 1970s, he rapidly rose to and became the Manager of Distribution for Yellow Freight Lines in Macon and Calhoun, Georgia.  In the early 1990s in Dalton, Georgia, Billy founded "The Pillow Company" which he has continued to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer.  in the ensuing years, he also founded and has continued to lead, a second business, Emerald Wholesale, Inc.

Affectionately referred to by his family as "Big Daddy", he was avidly spontaneous and enjoyed showering others with his caring and giving spirit. He enjoyed time on the golf course, time at the lake house, entertaining others, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves and in his younger years; taking Wynoka out for a night of square dancing and doing the jitterbug.  Most recently he enjoyed military action films and watching old westerns with Wynoka.

Billy was a lifelong member of Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Annette Henry (Buddy), Glynece Lumley (Junior), Lanell Posey (Norwood) and Ronald Holton (Grace).
