Bobbie Jean Braddy Hooks, age 82 of East Dublin passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2024.
Born on February 16, 1942 2in Soperton, Georgia, she was one of two daughters born to the late Ralph and Leither Amerson Braddy.
Throughout her lifetime, she worked in various jobs but mostly enjoyed her years as a Route Carrier for the Dublin Carrier Herald and most recently as a Greeter at the Wal Mart in Dublin, where she retired after over twenty years in 2022.
Mrs. Hooks enjoyed arts and crafts and visiting her Wal Mart, even when she wasn't assigned to work. Her coworkers were her extended family. They knew of her love and respect for each of them, of which they returned to her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty two years, Wallace L. Hooks and a son, Ralph Eugene "Gene" Braddy.
She leaves behind, a son, Gregg Braddy, Lilburn, GA, a daughter, Debbie B. Sterling, East Dublin, GA, her sister, Dorothy Deason (Jimmy), Hackberry, LA, grandchildren, Kelly Curtis (Tim), Dexter, GA, Alan Howard (Colleen), Imperial, PA, Tyler Nixon, East Dublin, GA, great grandchildren, Riley Curtis, Dexter, GA, Ayleigh and Will Nixon, Arkansas City, KS, Cayden Hutcheson, Dublin, GA and nephews, Stacey Spivey (Jeanelle) Silsbee, TX, Sean Spivey, Hackberry, LA and many friends, acquaintances and coworkers from Wal Mart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton with Chaplain Michael Miller, officiating.
Mrs. Hooks will be laid to rest in the Midway Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 o'clock am until the hour of service at Sammons Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Tyler Nixon and Tim Curtis
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the entire staff of Georgia Hospice Care for the dedication and compassion extended to Mrs. Hooks while she was under their care.
