Mrs. Brenda Lea Howard, age 56, of Soperton died Sunday, October 1, 2017.

Mrs. Howard was born in Columbus, OH, where she had lived for most of her life until moving to Soperton in 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kendall Chester Jones and Dorothy Mae Garling, and a brother, Kendall "KC" Jones.  Brenda was a longtime horse, dog and bird lover and breeder. While living in Ohio she owned and operated "Totally Awesome Stables" that participated in 4-H events, trail rides and other holiday events for handicapped children.

She is survived by her former husband, Terry Lee Howard of Soperton; her daughter, Tonya Howard, currently serving in the United States Navy and stationed on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE in Norfolk, VA; her son, Terry Lee Howard II of Soperton; two brothers, Roger and John Jones of Ohio; two grandchildren, Richard Aries Howard, and Freya Nicole Howard; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved pets.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
