Obituary

Bryant Billy Gay passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 after a brief illness. He was the second child and oldest twin of Sadie Underwood Walden and Billy Gay. He was born January 19, 1971 in Dublin, GA. He attended Thompkins High School in Savannah. He lived in Soperton, Savannah, Alamo, Uvalda, Kibbee and most recently was living in Santee, SC.

He was self-employed and worked as both a carpenter and electrician all of his life. He was devoted to his family and had a contagious sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, most especially fishing. He enjoyed music, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, grilling, basketball and throwing darts. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Alamo when he lived there.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Kenny and Laura Bellflower and Earl Underwood.

Bryant is survived by his mother, Sadie Walden, father, Billy Gay, wife, Kristi Gay, five siblings; Debra King (Doug), Chuck Gay, twin, Brian Gay, Nicole Wise, Summer Jones (Justin), eight children; Crissy Lynn, Amber Thompson (Timothy), Tyler Dowd, Dillon Gay, Charlie Owen (Vanessa), Joshua Johnson (Ashley), Billy Gay, Ashley Eaton, twelve grandchildren, including Brantley, who he shared a special bond with, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton, GA with Reverend Paul Wilkes of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church officiating.

His family will receive friends, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.

Bryant will be laid to rest in Tarrytown City Cemetery.

The family will gather at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Social Hall following the service.

In an effort to minimize any COVID-19 exposure the use of PPE and the practice of social distancing is encouraged.
