Mr. Buddy Bell Jr., age 67, of Glenwood passed away at his home on Saturday morning, October 21,
2023.
Born in Vidalia, he was the youngest of five children born to the late, Hancel A. and Ruby D. Barber Bell.
Buddy grew up and was a lifelong resident of Glenwood. He was a graduate of Montgomery County High
School, Class of 1974. After high school, he began a long career, like generations of the Bell family,
centered around hard work and eighteen wheeled trucks. Buddy worked with a logging crew for several years
before pulling loads through forty eight of our fifty states and hauling rock and sand locally before
returning to his love of logging and hauling timber, before retiring in March of this year.
He enjoyed working, listening to Christian music and was a self-taught computer and electronics whiz.
Buddy had been an, ordained Independent Nondenominational Full Gospel minister for over twenty
years.
He had attended the Vidalia Christian Fellowship, the McRae Christian Fellowship and served on the
Board of Directors and preached at the Christian Family Center in Soperton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Barbara Ann Hartley.
Buddy leaves behind, his wife of forty-eight years, Glenda Jo Kea Bell, Glenwood, GA, his siblings, Elaine
Bell Pope, Glenwood, GA, Kenneth Bell, Glenwood, GA, Larry Bell (Frances), Glenwood, GA, a brother in law, Rick
Hartley, of Lyons and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023 from the graveside in the
Edge Memorial Cemetery, Glenwood with Reverend LaDon Connell officiating.
His family will receive friends on Monday, at the graveside, from 2:00 o'clock p. m. until the hour of
service.
