Mr. Buford Alvin Jones, age 90 of Soperton passed away on Monday afternoon, December 12, 2022 at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.

Born in Metter, Georgia, he was the only child born to the late Buford Henry Jones and Bernice Lee Fordham Jones.  Mr. Jones grew up in the Metter and Savannah areas and had been a resident of Soperton since 1968.  He had worked for many years as a residential Carpenter before working at the Bethany Home in Vidalia as a Maintenance Mechanic, from where he retired after thirty years in 2002.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dina Sue Wrenn Jones who passed away in 2007.

Mr. Jones leaves behind: his two sons, Allen Jones and Billy Jones, both of Soperton, GA, grandchildren, Chris Jones (Melissa), Scott Jones, Miranda Horton (Wesley), Heather Jones, Billie Hulsey, Charlotte Page (Grant), great grandchildren, Shayla Proctor, Kayleigh Horton, Logan Proctor, Amiyah Jones, Rhys Gulnick, Kaleb Horton, Grayson Page, Anna Page and Ivey Page.

Mr. Jones will be laid to rest beside his wife in Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
