Mrs. Carolyn S. Fulford, age 74 of Soperton, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 28, 2018 at The Oaks Bethany of Vidalia in Vidalia, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Soperton First Baptist Church with Joshua Johnson, Pastor Kevin Collins and her son, Thomas Corbin officiating.
Mrs. Fulford will be laid to rest in the Sharpe Cemetery, near Uvalda.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Sammons Funeral Home.
Born in Savannah, she was one of three children born to the late George Lee and Sarah Adams Stafford. She grew up in Soperton and was a graduate of Treutlen County High School. Mrs. Fulford worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant at The Bethany Home and Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She had been a longtime member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and most recently at Harvest Chapel.
Her family recalls her love of cooking and providing for them and doting over her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Fulford, who passed away in 1995, her brother, Lee Stafford and her sister, Helen Beebe.
She is survived by: her children, Sheila Wickstrom and her husband, Terry of Vidalia, Georgia, Thomas H. Corbin and his wife, Mary Jane of Soperton, Georgia, Cathy Scarano and her husband, Richard, of Huntsville, Alabama, seven grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb and Joshua Wickstrom, Bradley and Connor Corbin, Gunner and Sydney Scarano, two great grandchildren, Jaxon and Kennedi Wickstrom, a niece, Robin Neidlinger and a nephew, Joey Beebe.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
