Mrs. Catherine M. "Cathy" Sammons, age 76, of Statesboro, formerly of Soperton, died Thursday, October 27, 2016.

Mrs. Sammons was born in Baltimore, MD and was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Sauders and Lillian E. Gephardt, husband, Hugh Sammons, daughter, Valerie Wolff, and brother, William J. Sauders, Sr. She was a retired substitute school teacher and school bus driver with the Treutlen County Board of Education and was a member of Soperton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Dianna Sammons-Floyd and husband, Ames, of Statesboro and Scott Sammons and wife, Karen, of Chickamauga, GA; sister, Gertrude Wallace, of Baltimore, MD; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Sunday, October 30, with Reverend Quentin McArthur and Reverend John Drake officiating.

A visitation will held at the funeral home one hour before the service on Sunday.
