Mrs. Cathy Baggett Phillips, age 61, formerly of Dublin passed away at her Statesboro, GA home on Monday, January 21, 2019.

Born in Dublin, she was one of three daughters born to Sylvia Morton Baggett and the late Dewey Baggett. Cathy grew up in Dublin and graduated from Dublin High School before attending Middle Georgia College and Young Harris College where she earned her degree in business. In the early 1980s she met her future husband, Soperton native, Kenneth L. Phillips. They were married in 1983 and made their home in Athens, Georgia until moving to Statesboro in 2000. While living in Athens she worked with Padgett Business Services as well as running her own gift shop, Southern Creations.

Cathy was a kind and generous person; supporting many various charitable causes. She enjoyed reading, arranging flowers and southern cooking.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Cathy leaves behind, her husband of 35 years, Ken Phillips, their daughter, Kendra Smith (Jonathan), Savannah, GA, her mother, Sylvia Williams (Joseph), Dublin, GA, her sisters, Cynthia Vergara (Anthony), Cumming, GA, Cindy Rogers (Terry), Dublin, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Gilbert Posey officiating.

Cathy will be laid to rest in Westview Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, at a luncheon to be held at the family home on Crooked Run Road at 11:30 a.m. and at Sammons Funeral Home from 1:15 pm until the hour of the service.
