Mr. Charles V. Johnson, age 79, beloved husband of Frances Radford Johnson of Soperton passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, September 17, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.

A native and lifelong resident of Soperton, he was the eldest of two sons born to the late Ira Milton and Jeanette B. Johnson. Mr. Johnson grew up in Soperton and was a graduate of Treutlen County High School, Class of 1958. After high school he attended Brewton Parker College where he earned his Associate Degree. In 1961 he married longtime acquaintance and Soperton native, Frances Radford. Mr. Johnson worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for 25 years before taking over the family business; Johnson's Towing. In later years, he opened and ran Johnson's Auto Parts, U-Serve Car Wash and U-Store Storage Units. He retired in the mid 2000's; about the same time that his wife sold her business; Frances Johnson Florist.

Mr. Johnson loved being out of doors; whether it be hunting, camping and above all fishing; and sharing his catch with others.

He was a lifelong Baptist and had been a longtime member at Soperton First Baptist Church before his recent affiliation with the Anchor of Hope Worship Center.

Mr. Johnson leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Frances Radford Johnson, Soperton, GA, three sons, a brother, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from the graveside in Westview Cemetery with Pastor Milton Thomas and Pastor Gilbert Posey officiating..

His family will receive friends at the cemetery or friends may call at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice.
