Mr. Charles Q. Webb, age 76, beloved husband of Sula Bridges Webb, and living in the Midway Community of Soperton, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 11, 2025 at Community Hospice in Vidalia with his family surrounding him.

A native and lifelong resident of Treutlen County, he was the only son and the last living of seven children born to the late James Quinton Webb and Eunice Mary Lizzie Brantley.  Mr. Webb attended school in Treutlen County where he met Sula Bridges.  He knew as soon as he saw her that he was going to marry her and did so on May 7, 1966.

Charles had an innate ability to work on and fix things that were broken.  He had worked in  plant maintenance with Goldkist in Dublin for several years before joining Southeast Paper (West Rock) in Dublin as a Maintenance Supervisor where he remained until retiring in the late 1990s.

Charles enjoyed being out doors; whether it be hunting, fishing, camping, riding his puppies on his side by side or simply tinkering  /  piddling on things outside.  His neighbors and family knew,  if something was broken, Charles would fix it.  There were many times that he wasn't physically able but because he cared about helping others, his did so without hesitation.   He and his wife Sula were devoted to each other and did most everything together.  They especially loved it when their children came to visit but beamed when the grand and great grandchildren came.  He loved everyone gathering on the back porch that he built especially as his "room" where he could cook for his family.

Charles and Sula had attended Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Cornerstone Baptist Church and were longtime generational members at Midway Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Sybil Hall, Betty Westby, an infant sister, Jeanette Willis, Dorothy Bell and Totsy Enlow.

Mr. Charles leaves behind: his wife of 59 years, Sula Bridges Webb, their daughters, Tammy Pullen (Joey), Soperton, GA, Peggy Cauley (Dennis) Soperton, grandchildren: Haley Anderson (Cody), Kelsy Brinson (Jordan), Saleena Brandhurst (Noah), great grandchildren, Madelyn Anderson, Emersyn Anderson, Raelyn Anderson, Anniston Brinson, Colton Brandhurst, loving fur babies, Trixie and Freckles as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Conway Jones and Pastor Gainor Ridgdill officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Cody Anderson, Jordan Brinson, Noah Brandhurst, Jeff Atkins, Jeff Phillips and Paul Bridges.

The Staff of Dr. Lee Arnold's office in Vidalia will be recognized as honorary escorts.

Charles was laid to rest in the family section of the Midway Church Cemetery; a short walk from his home.

Friends and family visited at Sammons Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:30 p. m. until the hour of service, as well as at the family home, following the services.
