Dec 13, 1939 — Jul 14, 2018
Charleston
It is with great sadness to announce that Charles Myron Wrenn Sr., age 78 of James Island, SC; surrounded by his family, went to be with his Lord after a long battle with cancer, on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
He was born on December 13, 1939 in Soperton, GA, the youngest of five and last living child of the late Johnnie and Ruby Fowler Wrenn. On September 1, 1961 Mr. Wrenn married his loving wife of 57 years, Marion Holt, in Appling County, Georgia. Together they moved to Charleston, SC in 1966 where he later started his business, CMW Electric. Along with his career, Mr. Wrenn coached Little League football at St. Andrews Playground as well as coaching at James Island YMCA, East Cooper High School and First Baptist High School. He touched the lives of all the boys coached and will always be remembered by them for his discipline and compassion.
He founded Helping Hands Ministries in 1997 where countless lives were impacted. His love for serving the Lord was undeniable and selfless. "I lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth." Psalms 121
Mr. Wrenn will be remembered by a loving family who knew him as a strong and "tough old man" who was slow to get angry and always willing to forgive. He was the perfect example of a Godly man and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
