Mrs. Violet Christine Johnson, age 81 of the Lothair Community of Soperton passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, November 20, 2024.
Born in Tarrytown, she was the sixth of seven children born to the late Cecil Eugene Simons and Nora Lee Curl Simons. She grew up in Tarrytown before moving to Minter with her father's work as a farmer, carpenter and minister. In 1962 she married Lothair native, Wayne Johnson. They moved to Bainbridge for a short time before settling in Macon from where her husband retired. While living in Macon, Mrs. Johnson worked as a Title Clerk with an Automotive Dealership. In the late 1980s they returned to Treutlen County. Mrs. Johnson went to work with Food Max, which eventually became Food World, in Dublin from where she retired as the Produce Manager.
Mrs. Johnson enjoyed working with her sister, arranging flowers at Diane's Florist in Dublin, fishing, attending her son's sporting events as well as growing and canning vegetables and being a homemaker for her husband and sons.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Wayne Johnson and siblings, Bunk Simons, Royce Simons, Jack Simons, Millie Bowen, William Larkin "W.L." Simons and a daughter-in-law, Pam Johnson, who passed away in 2016.
Mrs. Johnson leaves behind: her sons, Clinton Wayne "Clint" Johnson (Tara), Macon, GA, Eddie Johnson, Midway, GA, Bryan Johnson (Sandy), Lothair Community of Soperton, GA, her brother, Truman Simons (Sherrie), Fayetteville, GA, grandchildren, Lauren Slaughter, Shelby Burgamy, Tristan Johnson, Caleb Johnson. Ansley Senderling, Ivy Johnson, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from the graveside in Red Bluff Cemetery with Reverend Milton Thomas officiating. Mrs. Johnson will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Her family will receive friends, on Saturday, at the graveside, following the service.
