Obituary

Clyde L. Ricks of Adrian, Georgia, beloved husband of Flossie Ricks, entered into Heavens portals shortly after noon on February 28, 2021.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 75 years who entered into Heaven on January 28, 2021, exactly one month earlier.  He is survived by his children, Linda Ricks-Jones (Wayne) of Macon, GA and sons Ronnie and Kennon (Wendi) Ricks of Adrian.

He was a loving granddaddy to six grandchildren - Michele Jones Burgess (Jay) and Michael W. Jones, Jr. (Heather) of Culloden, GA, Jeremy Ricks (Kelly) of Swainsboro, Ga and Nikki Ricks Williams (Talon) of Statesboro; Kaley Ricks of Adrian and Kyle Ricks of Swainsboro.

Great granddaddy of 10 - Lindsay Marie Burgess, Madelyn Grace Jones, Hannah Catherine Jones, Leah Denise Jones and Michael W. Jones, III of Culloden, GA.  Nash Ron Ricks and Alba Marie Ricks of Swainsboro, Cam Michael Williams and Brynn Williams of Statesboro, GA and Kenli Brooke Anderson of Adrian, GA.

Born November 23, 1929 to Horace Kennon Ricks and Ida Lee Curl Ricks in Emanuel County, Adrian, GA, he was the youngest of 7 siblings.   He was the last of his siblings to be deceased.

He was the founder of C.L. Ricks & Sons Mirror and Glass Company which he managed until his retirement.  He and his wife opened their first glass shop in Dublin, GA in the early 1950's with his brothers Jack and Romie.  His legacy and the Ricks name in the glass industry is known far and wide.   Many of the glass shops in Central Georgia got their start while working at Ricks Glass under "Mr. Clyde".

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend David Oliver of Adrian Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Ricks will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Ricksville Cemetery, near their home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Larry Sumner, Randall Whitaker, John Page, Wayne Foskey, Justin Johnson and Kevin Moore.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 1:00 pm until the hour of service or friends may call at the home of his son, Ken and Wendi Ricks.

If so desired, the family requests that instead of flowers, contributions be made in "Mr. Clyde's" and "Miss Flossie's" memory to Adrian Baptist Church, P. O. Box 293, Adrian, GA  31002.
