Mrs. Cora Carolyn Mimbs, age 84, of Cedar Grove died Monday, March 13, 2017.

Mrs. Mimbs was born in Macon and had lived most of her life in Laurens County. She was preceded in death by her parents, M.Q. and Lillie Mae Wright Carpenter, her husband of fifty-four years, Reverend Melvin E. Mimbs, a son, Michael L. Mimbs, and granddaughter, Brandi L. Mimbs.  She was a homemaker and a member of Union Springs Baptist Church, Laurens County.

Survivors include her children, Reverend Randy Mimbs (Jan), Patricia Alligood (Steven), all of Dublin, Melanie Warnock (Reverend Phillip) of Soperton, and Marianne Stewart (Scott) of Cedar Grove; grandchildren, Lauren Mimbs-Brazell (Reverend Jeffrey), Jordan Mimbs, Matthew Alligood (Mary Lauren), Daniel Alligood, Amanda Warnock-Herndon (Mark), Brittany Warnock-Burns (Adam), Ciera Warnock, Zack Stewart, and Will Stewart; two great-grandchildren, Gunner Burns and Gage Burns.

Services will be held in Union Springs Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, with the Reverend Randy Mimbs and Reverend Phillip Warnock officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeffrey Brazell, Mark Herndon, Adam Burns, Matthew Alligood, Daniel Alligood, Zack Stewart, and Will Stewart.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6—8 p.m. and may be reached at the home of Reverend Phillip and Melanie Warnock, 195 Lake Helen Loop, Soperton.
