Mr. Dallas Franklin Smith, age 58 of the Violet Hill Community of Soperton passed away on Tuesday evening, November 16, 2021 at University Hospital in Augusta.

Born in Green Cove Springs, FL, he was one of five children born to the late Edward Lee Smith and Reba Ireatha Moore Smith.  He grew up in Orange Park, FL until moving to Kite in 1975.  He was a graduate of Johnson County High School, Class of 1980.  Frank has had a long career in the Convenience Store business as a Manager and Troubleshooter.  He has worked over forty years with Flash Foods, Shell, Chevron, Clyde's Market in Swainsboro and was presently managing Friendly Gus on GA Hwy 19 South.  Through the years, Frank became highly respected for his ability to evaluate, identify weaknesses and formulate a plan for underperforming stores.  He was a board game fanatic, enjoyed family game nights and held some old and collectible games in his varied collections.  He enjoyed the theory and prospects of the dog and horse tracks.  He was an avid flower gardener, great uncle and was known to spoil his nieces and nephews.

Frank was a member of the Soperton Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Rebecca Lynn Moore, Betty Olive Hodges and Wyman Lee Smith.

Frank leaves behind one brother, James Edward Smith and countless nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside in Kite City Cemetery at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 27, 2021 with Pastor Keith Wolfe officiating.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the graveside, from 11:00 am until the hour of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Blake Brooks, Chaz Brooks, Jesse Brooks, Jeremy Brooks, Rico Moore, Toni Moore, Gaje McGowan, Aiden McLendon and Noly Smith.
