Mr. David Fred Bell Sr., age 75, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Webb Bell of Soperton passed away on Sunday morning, January 30, 2022 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Born in Dublin he was the youngest and last living of four sons born to the late William Thomas Bell and Mary Ellen Loyd Bell.  He attended school at East Laurens before joining the United States Army.  He served as a Sergeant in Vietnam during his active duty time until being honorably discharged in 1969.  Mr. Bell had a lengthy career within the Civil Service System at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA before joining the U. S. Postal Service as a mail carrier from where he retired in 2005.  He remained enlisted in the U. S. Army reserves from 1975 until 1993 during which time he was activated and served in the Desert Storm and Desert Shield campaigns.

After retiring, Mr. Bell enjoyed time spent with his family, watching his favorite shows and his terrier – Jack.

His beloved wife passed away in May of 2021.  They were members at Midway Church in Soperton.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, John Allen Bell, James Thomas Bell, Jospeh William Bell and a great grandson, Aleczavier Soto.

Mr. Bell leaves behind his children, Teresa L. 'Lynn" Rosario (Felipe), Dublin, GA, Kevin Bell (Tammy), Soperton, GA, David Fred Bell Jr. (Liesl), Pell City, AL, Kristy D. Bell, Soperton, GA, six grandchildren, James D. Rosario, Daniella R. Rosario, Josh K. H. Bell, Nathan McCoy, Tristan McCoy and Jupiter Finney, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 in the Williams Capel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Larry W. Sauls officiating.

Mr. Bell will be laid to rest beside his wife in Midway Cemetery with full military honors.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
