Mr. Dennis Vernon Edge, age 58 of Glenwood passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2020 at his home.

A native of Wheeler County he was born in Treutlen County and one of four children born to the late Vernon L. and Elizabeth Montez Johnson Edge. Dennis and his siblings grew up and attended school in Wheeler County. He had moved to North Florida, to work with family, in the 1970s; where he remained until returning to Glenwood in the 1990s. Dennis had worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, owned a Landscape and Pine Straw company and most recently worked with Locke Logging until late 2019.

He enjoyed fishing, four wheelers, cooking; yes cooking and listening to music; LOUD.

He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Glenwood.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lawrence Edge and two brothers, Seaborn David Edge and Donnie Edge.

Dennis leaves behind, his son, David Lamar Edge, Yulee, FL, his sister, Denise Edge Johnson, Glenwood, GA, a sister in love, Renee Edge, Soperton, GA, three grandchildren, Gracie, Bradley and Alaina Edge, nieces, Angie Hooks (Wayne), Sabrina Coleman (Brandon), Kendra Pickle (Dale), great nieces and nephews, Brylen Goss, Brynna Coleman, Peyton, Denton, Kelton, Weston and Keaton Pickle and two Bonus sons, Chris Williams and James Hooks.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Clarence Best officiating.

Mr. Edge will be laid to rest, at a later date, in the Edge Family Cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
