Diane Williams Johnson, age 72 of Soperton passed away on Monday afternoon, December 13, 2021 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Dodge County, she was one of six children born to the late Ellis and Ruby Peacock Williams.  She grew up in the Chauncy / Milan area and had worked for a short time with Cintas Uniforms in Vidalia.  Diane had been a resident of Treutlen County since the early 1960s.  As a longtime homemaker, she enjoyed yardwork and spending time with family.

As a child, her family attended Sweet Home Baptist Church in Milan and most recently had attended Soperton First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Kendall Williams, Ellis Wayne Williams, Cheryl Ann Posey and Connie Williams.

Diane leaves behind her daughter, Sonia Joiner, Reidsville, GA, her last living brother, Danny Williams (Wanda), Soperton, GA, two grandchildren, Derek and Sabrina and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Gilbert Posey officiating.

Diane will be laid to rest beside her brother, Wayne, in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Milan, Georgia

Serving as pallbearers will be: Mitchell Steptoe, Frankie Wade, Dwayne Williams, Derek Joyner, Kaiser Jackson and Kyle Whitaker.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8 :00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home.
