Mrs. Dolores Davis Walden, age 71, of Soperton passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.

Mrs. Walden was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, Albert M. and Thelma Johnson Davis; a brother, Ray Davis; and a sister, Geraldine Alligood.  A 1965 graduate of Treutlen High School, she received her Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern College, Statesboro, in 1969, her Master's degree from the University of Georgia, Athens, in 1974, and her Education Specialist degree from Georgia Southern College in 1980. She began her teaching career in Laurens County in 1969 and joined the Treutlen County Board of Education in 1970 where she taught until her retirement in 1999.  She was a member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association and was also a member of Red Bluff Baptist Church, Treutlen County.

Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Gary Walden; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Leigh Ann Walden of Soperton; two granddaughters, Claire Walden and Addie Walden of Soperton; brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Carolyn Davis of Dublin; two sisters by choice,  Patsy Ware of Soperton and Pat Cordova of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Red Bluff Baptist Church, Treutlen County, at 11 o'clock Saturday, March 31, with Reverend Donny Crosby officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
