Mrs. Doris H. Carter, age 93, of Vidalia passed peacefully into eternity Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2019.

Born in Bacon County she was one of six children born to the late James Oscar and Sula Hutcheson Hester. She has been a resident of Toombs County since moving from Alma in 1966. In the early 1960s Mrs. Carter founded Christian Fellowship Mission of Vidalia which she Pastored for approximately twenty five years when her son stepped in and followed in his mother's footsteps of ministry.

In addition to her parents and husband of 49 years, Parnell Clarence "P. C." Carter, she is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Herschel Hester, Albert Hester, Margarite Johnson and Johnny Hester.

She leaves behind, her two sons, Wayne Carter (Ginger), Vidalia, GA, Reverend Charles E. Carter (Kay), Vidalia, GA, her daughter, Sue Meeks of Lyons, her sister, Lorene Boatwright (Gene), Alma, GA, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Voice of Grace Ministries, 1221 Orange Street, Vidalia, GA 30474

Mrs. Carter was laid to rest beside her husband in Pine Crest Cemetery, Vidalia.
