Mrs. Dorothy Dickens, age 88, of Adrian died Monday, August 14, 2017.

Mrs. Dickens was born in Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Lois Price Mimbs; her husbands, Otis Brantley, Pete Holland, and Ben L. Dickens; daughter, Dorothy Nell Brantley; brothers, Elmer Mimbs and Edward Mimbs; and sisters, Bernese Youngblood and Ruby Smith.  She was a former employee of Oxford Manufacturing Company, Vidalia, and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Blackville Church of God, Treutlen County.

Survivors include her children, Janice Blaxton of Lyons, Gary (Mary Ann) Dickens of Adrian, Angie Dickens of Soperton, and Denise (Louie) Spell of Cobbtown; sisters, Ella Ree Webb of Statesboro and Maggie (Cessum) Young of East Dublin; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Blackville Church of God at 2 o'clock Thursday, August 17, with Pastor Greg Lowery and Reverend Milton Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Soperton, with Sammons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Chris Dickens, Craig Dickens, Jamey Toler, Carneage Young, Matthew Young, and Eddie Mimbs.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and may be reached at the home of Gary and Mary Ann Dickens, 2898 Georgia Highway 86, Adrian, GA.
