Mrs. Edna Merle Moye, age 88 of Adrian passed away on Monday evening, December 19, 2022 at her home.

Born in McIntosh County, she is the last living of ten children born to the late Daniel McAustin Young and Mittie Ann Poppell Young.  She grew up in the Young's lsland Community; the child of a farmer.  She later married Uvalde native, Rayford D. Moye and they lived in the Mcintosh Community.  In 1966 they moved to Treutlen County to be near family.  Her husband passed away in 2009 and in 2014 she moved to Johnson County to be cared for by her daughter and her grandson, David.

Mrs. Moye enjoyed writing and recording her memories in pen and loved western movies.

She was United Pentecostal by faith.

In addition to her parents and husband of fifty five years, she is preceded in death by a grand daughter, Suzanne Cribbs.

Mrs. Moye leaves behind: her children, Donald R. Moye, Glenwood, GA, Ernest Daniel Moye (Amy), Soperton, GA, Milton Randall Moye (Lisa), Sylvania, GA, Timothy D. Moye (Loran), Rentz, GA, Anthony D. Moye (Jean), Scott, GA, Rhonda Joyce, Adrian, GA, Terry Moye, Soperton, GA, eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 23, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with her son, Pastor Randall Moye officiating.

Mrs. Moye will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Sharpe Cemetery, Alston, GA.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Her grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
