Mrs. Edna Burnette Smith Graham, age 75, of Pleasant Springs Community died Sunday, May 14, 2017.
Mrs. Graham was born in Laurens County where she lived most of her life and was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Myrtle Norris Smith, brother, Marvin Smith, and nephew, Richard Smith. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base. She was a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church where she served as church clerk for twenty-four years, taught Sunday School for many years, and was church historian. She was a member of the Georgia Baptist Historical Society and Central Georgia Genealogical Society. She was a past member of the Cherokee National Historical Society and was a Native American Lineage Researcher.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Jimmie A. Graham; children, Kendel (Gina) Graham, Sr., Karen (Kevin) Drury, all of Dublin, and Vickie (Victor) Sheffield of Evans; grandsons, Brandon Sheffield, James Drury, Kendel Graham, Jr., Caleb Graham, Mark Sheffield, Thomas Sheffield, Austin Lamb, and Matthew Lamb; granddaughters, Catherine Tindall, Meagan Graham, Alicia (Joe) Seeker, Brianna Graham, Montanna Graham, Shyeanna Graham, and Ashley Sheffield; great-granddaughters, Melanie Gibson, Allison Sheffield, Hunter Sheffield, and Lillian Tindall; brother, Ted Smith of Rockledge; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Pleasant Springs Baptist Church at 11 o'clock Wednesday, May 17, with Pastor Keith Collins, Reverend L. T. Logue, and Reverend Ben Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Springs Cemetery. Sammons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Seeker, Caleb Graham, James Drury, Kendel Graham, Jr., James Kevin Drury, Victor Sheffield, Paul Churchwell, and Brandon Sheffield.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
