Mr. Edsel F. "Eddie" Hayslip, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 15, 2024 at St. Joseph's/ Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Born at home in Treutlen County, he was one of ten children born to the late Jonah Evans Hayslip and Lela Mae Gillis Hayslip.

Mr. Hayslip was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1959.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Hayslip, J.E. Hayslip, Bobby Hayslip, Lynn Hayslip. Lela Mae Webb, Dale Hosti and Margie Gulley.

Mr. Hayslip leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Richard Hayslip, Bloomingdale, GA, daughters, Tammy Hayslip, Statesboro, GA, Ellen Corley, Pooler, GA, brothers, Billy Hayslip, Tybee Island, GA, Alton Hayslip, Statesboro, GA, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from the graveside in Midway Church Cemetery in Soperton, GA with Pastor Dean Martin officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the Fort Stewart Army Honors Detail, Fort Stewart, GA.

His family will receive friends at the graveside.
