Mr. Elon "E. B." Williams, age 94, of Wrightsville died Sunday, January 3, 2016.

Mr. Williams was born in Emanuel County and had lived in Toombs County for most of his life before moving to Wrightsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Willie Barrett Williams, former wife, Christine Gillis Williams, brother, Eugene Williams, and grandchild, Elon I.B. Williams. He was an Army Veteran of World War II where he received both the silver and bronze star and was a retired truck driver with Jolly Aide-Collins Corporation and Choo-Choo Supply, Vidalia. He was a member of South Thompson Baptist Church, Vidalia, and the Vidalia Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Smith Williams; children, Bronnon D. (Fleta Wood) Williams, Mark D. Williams, Patricia A. Williams, Phyllis G. (Randy Fisher) Williams, all of Vidalia and Lee Rich of Millen; brothers, L.C. Williams of Ailey and Nathaniel D. Williams of Lynn Haven, FL; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

A memorial service was held at South Thompson Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 7.
