Mrs. Elsie E. Rackard, age 84 of Adrian, GA passed away on Monday evening, May 7, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hammock, officiating

Mrs. Rackard will be laid to rest in Westview Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Berry, AL, she was the second of five children born to the late Starling J. and Derald Ledlow Lawrence.   In 1952 she married Leon Rackard of South Florida. They lived in Buford, GA for many years where Mrs. Rackard owned and operated a Day Care for children. In 2004 they moved to Adrian.

She enjoyed yard sales, cooking and taking care of her animals. Since moving to the Soperton area, the Rackards have been faithful members of Trinity Assembly of God in Soperton.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril and Darwin Lawrence and two sisters, Wymbreth and Marion Kay Lawrence.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leon Rackard Sr., their children, Juanita King, Sharon Horton (Solomon) and J.R. Rackard (Karla), nine grandchildren, Justin, Melaney, Laurie, Kris Anne, Carrie, Johnathan, Adam, Jacob, Victoria, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
