Mr. Eric Jameson Poole, age 28, beloved husband of Danielle Holton Poole, of Soperton, passed away at their home on Monday morning, December 16, 2019.
Born in Vidalia, Georgia, he was the son of Kenneth Harold Poole and Cynthia Jean Meeks Ziebell. Eric grew up in Treutlen and Wheeler Counties and was a graduate of Wheeler County High School, Class of 2009. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served on active duty until being discharged in 2015. During his years on active duty, he served at various duty stations in the United States as well as abroad in Germany and Afghanistan as a Vehicle Specialist. Upon being honorably discharged, he immediately enlisted in the Reserves where he recently achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 2015 while visiting his family in Vidalia, he met his future wife, Danielle Holton, whom he would marry in 2016. Since being discharged from active duty, he has continued to serve in the U. S. Air Force Reserves and has worked as an Independent Contractor with Technical Appraisal Services of Georgia and The Million Pines Company. He had recently created Southern Home Consulting LLC.
Eric was an avid hunter who enjoyed all hunting and time spent training his Labrador Retrievers for present and future duck hunts. Eric was a workaholic; always undertaking new projects on their property or helping a friend. He was a family man; whether it was in support of his church family or his family. His favorite pastime was spending time with his son, Weston, who was his pride and joy.
He and Danielle were members at Connection Church in Dublin, Georgia, and he was a member of Sylvan Hills Lodge No. 754, F & AM, Sherwood, Arkansas.
Eric is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Martha Poole, his maternal grandfather J. D. Meeks and his step father, Michael Ziebell.
He leaves behind his wife, Danielle Holton Poole; their son, Weston James Poole; his father, Kenny Poole (Nancy), Alamo, GA; his mother, Cynthia Meeks Ziebell, Soperton, GA; his maternal grandmother, Hilda Meeks, Vidalia, GA; his siblings, Andy Poole (Amber), Tabitha Purvis (Russell), D. J. Poole, Shelby Poole, Charly Poole, Ransom Poole, all of Alamo, Ga and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Buck Benton and Reverend Ronny Saxon officiating.
Eric will be laid to rest in Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force Ceremonial Detachment, Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, GA and Masonic burial rites will be accorded by Harmony Lodge No. 405, F & A. M. Soperton, Georgia.
His family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
