Mrs. Evelyn L. Davis, age 98, of Savannah died Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Mrs. Davis was born in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by her parents, Thad and Molly Calhoun Simons; daughter, Evelyn Dolores Sharpe; sisters, Estelle Ennis, Ruby Nell Rickerson, and Inez Wade; brother, John Simons; and grandson-in-law, Gary Adams.  She was a homemaker and was of the Christian Advent Faith.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Carl J. Davis; son, Dennis E. (Louise) Davis of Burnsville, NC; grandchildren, Becky Adams of Rainbow, TX, Beth (Mickey) Sheehan of Suwanee, GA, and James C. (Deborah) Davis of Fuquay Varina, NC; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) McSpadden, Sydney Sheehan, and Jake Sheehan; great-great-grandchildren, Boston McSpadden and Cannon McSpadden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, at 11 o'clock Sunday, April 23, with Chaplain, Captain J. Patrick Finley officiating.  Burial will be in Tarrytown Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour before the services on Sunday.
