Mr. Floyd Julian Meeks, age 66, of Glenwood died Monday, December 7, 2015.

Mr. Meeks was born in Swainsboro and was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Meeks, Sr. and Sally Gladys Fortner Meeks; his wife, Carolyn Fordham Meeks; sisters, Donnie Tilyou and Gaynell Woods; and brother, Bill Meeks. He was employed by Wheeler County Sanitation Department and was a member of Pinetucky Church of God of Prophecy, Laurens County.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Spivey Purdee Meeks; sons, Elvis (Paula) Meeks, Vidalia, John (Tammy) Purdee, Jr. and Jason (Stacy) Purdee, all of East Dublin; grandchild, Brittany Collins; great-grandchildren, Gannon Copeland and Addison Brown; sisters, Audrey Powell and Barbara (Clyde) Smith, all of Glenwood; and brothers, James B. (Nell) Meeks, Jr, Soperton, and Waylon Meeks, LaGrange.

A memorial service was held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, with Pastor Harold J. Thornton, Sr. officiating.
