Mr. Garland Glenn Kerr, age 74, of Soperton passed away at his home on Monday evening, August 6, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Hutcheson, officiating.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 o'clock am until the hour of service.

Mr. Kerr will be laid to rest in Westview Cemetery.

Born in Treutlen County, he was the only child born to the late James Thomas Kerr and Retha Vivian Spivey Denton. In 1962 he married Oak Park native, Glenda Dismuke. They moved to Dublin in the late 1960s during which time they owned and operated the Tastee Freez in East Dublin. Mr. Kerr also drove a bus for the Laurens County Public School System before moving to Lyons. Upon moving to Lyons he worked with and became a Partner with the Marion A. Allen Insurance Agency until retiring in 2001.

He was a member of the Vidalia Moose Lodge where he served as Governor and Administrator. He served as President and Past President of the Georgia Moose Association and earned the Pilgrim Degree of Merit within the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Mr. Kerr was a member of Soperton First Baptist Church where he was a member of the R.A. Perry Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenda "Ina" Kerr, Soperton, GA, two sons, Tim Kerr (Terri), Dublin, GA, Mike Kerr (Lisa), Hazlehurst, GA, two daughters, Angel Wittmann (Charlie), Canton, GA, Holly Boyd (Fawn), Irving, TX, ten grandchildren, Brandon Kerr, Justin Kerr, Ainsley Kerr, Amy Gunter, Christy Wittmann, Chad Gay, Lauren Lockley, Heather Nelms, Cody Neesmith, Brandon Neesmith and seventeen great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Brandon Kerr, Justin Kerr, Cody Neesmith, Todd Dismuke, Craig Dismuke and Dana Dismuke.

The R. A. Perry Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
