Mr. Gary Smith, age 63, formerly of Soperton, passed away at his East Dublin, GA home on Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend L.T. Logue, officiating.

Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy Ceremonial Detail Detachment.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Augustus Smith Jr. and Jewell C. Garner Smith, a brother, Glenn and a sister, Judy.

He is survived by a brother, James Smith (Karen), Soperton, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was one of four children born in the family, was a proud U.S. Naval Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church.
