Mr. George Edward Morgan, age 67 of Soperton passed away on Friday afternoon, February 18, 2022 at his home.

Born in Wheeler County, he was the middle child of nine born to the late L.E. Morgan and Virginia Henry Morgan.  George grew up in Glenwood and started working in the logging industry with and for his father as a teenager.  He continued to work as a Logger and an "over the road" Truck Driver his entire life.  Mr. Morgan has worked for Doug Story Logging, Locke Logging, K Bell Trucking and Chambers Logging.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising dogs and training quarter horses for barrell racing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Harry Ogle.

Mr. Morgan leaves behind, his wife, Tina Lynn Morgan, Soperton, GA, children, Pam Currie (Ben), Rentz, GA, Melvin Morgan (Robin), Dexter, GA, Steven Williams (Crystal), Soperton, GA, Brandon Cooper, Soperton, GA, Christy Williams (Jeremy), Scotland, GA, Linda Horne (Daniel), Glenwood, GA, a grandson that he raised like a son, Jake Williams, his siblings Jesse Morgan (Gracie), Darlington, SC, Ann Outler (Wayne), Sandersville, GA, Pixie Bright (Johnny), Charlotte, NC, Charles Morgan (Gloria), Glenwood, GA, Tammy Stengel (Cary), Darlington, SC, Tony Morgan (Smokie), Glenwood, GA, Danny Morgan (Kay), Alamo, GA, eighteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home by his brother, Charles Morgan and his nephew Darrell Lanier officiating.

Mr. Morgan will be laid to rest with his parents in Edge Memorial Cemetery, Glenwood, GA.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Evan Lawrence, Dale Lanier, Jeremy Phelps, Dillon Williams, Jeremy Williams Jr. and Ben Currie.
