Mr. Gerald Thomas Wingard, Jr., age 43, of Normantown, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at his residence.

Thomas was born in Emanuel County and lived most of his life in Toombs County. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lance Lindsay. He was a construction worker and was a member of the Soperton Church of God. He was a happy person who loved life and his friends.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Lindsay, his father, Gerald Thomas Wingard, Sr., his sisters Geena Lindsay and Dana Lindsay, all of Vidalia; and a brother, Jason and Julie Wingard of Soperton.

Graveside services were held in Beasley Cemetery, Treutlen County, at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 24, with Reverend Elmer Caraway officiating.

Sammons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
