Mrs. Geraldine Kight Walker received her call from God on Sunday morning, June 30, 2024 at her home in Dublin, Georgia. She was 75 years old.
She was born in Treutlen County on August 6, 1948. She was one of seven children born to G. J. and Jessie Gilreath Cammack. She grew up in the Rosemont Community of Treutlen County and was a graduate of Treutlen High School, Class of 1967. She worked as a Supervisor at Soperton Manufacturing Company / Woolrich for 34 years before joining the Veterans Administration at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, from where she retired in 2017. She loved her work and loved talking with people.
In addition to her full-time employment; for 31 years she was a Representative for Avon health and beauty products from where she received national recognition and countless awards as a top sales producer.
She enjoyed sending cards as well as calling and checking on friends and those that were sick. She also loved cooking, being with her family, representing the Avon company, cutting grass, working with her flowers and listening to gospel music.
In addition to her parents, G. J. and Jessie Cammack, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James Henry Kight Sr., a brother, Grady Ray Cammack and a niece, Lisa Peebles.
Mrs. Walker leaves behind, her son, James Henry Kight Jr. and his wife Julie, of Dublin, GA, grandson, Chase Kight, of Peachtree City, GA, her present husband, Preston P. Walker, of Dublin, GA, daughters, Phyllis Stokes (Jeff), Delaine Samples (TJ), of Lizella, GA, grandchildren, Malaina Ywan (Joseph), of Culloden, GA, Maisyn and Jansyn Samples, Lexikay Stokes (Will) and Jana Kate Stokes, all of Lizella, GA, great grandchildren, Makenzie, Nathan, Everett, Tate Ywan and Teagyn Thompson, two sisters, Lucy Peebles (Jones), of Hinesville, GA and Jane Asbell (Earl), of Dublin, GA, three brothers, Bobby Joe Cammack (Joan), of Soperton, GA, Billy Cammack (Sue), of Mt. Vernon, GA, Donnie Cammack (Teresa), of Soperton, GA and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Duggar, Reverend Gilbert Posey and Reverend Adam Tarver officiating.
Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest in Westview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Jason Cammack, Ash Asbell, Al Garner, David Tarver, Caleb Garner and Adam Tarver.
Her family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home or friends and family may call at the residence.
