Mrs. Hazel Jane Watts Thomas, age 78, of Scott died Monday, July 18, 2016.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Dublin and was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Hall Watts, her husband of fifty-seven years, Winfred H. Thomas, and her son-in-law, Lex Baker. She was a former employee with Belk, Dublin. She was a member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene, East Dublin, where she became the pianist at the age of fourteen. She continued to serve the Lord in that position for sixty-four years until her health declined.
Survivors include her children, Anita (Hugh) Thompson of Garden City and Harold Thomas of Scott; a special daughter-in-love, Lisa Adams Thomas of Scott; her grandchildren, Britney (Ryan) Crispin, Clay Thomas, Makayla Thomas, Mathew Thomas, Canaan Thompson, Beverly (Joe) Gamalero, Jeff Baker, and James Baker; great-grandchildren, Gabe Thomas, Lilly Crispin, Liza Crispin, Jordan Baker, Natalie Baker, Levi Baker, and Alora Gamalero; sisters, Edith Locke of O'Brien, FL and Joyce (Carl) Beckham of East Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, with Elder Hugh Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Clay Thomas, Mathew Thomas, Canaan Thompson, Ryan Crispin, Austin Dixon, Mark Thomas, Don Hightower, and Andy Webb.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the funeral service and may be reached at the family residence.
