Obituary

Mrs. Ina Jo Herndon Miller, 79, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

Mrs. Miller was born in Vidalia, Georgia on August 30th, 1937, to Wilson Herndon and Daisy Hamilton Herndon.  She was married to Richard Peter Miller, who preceded her in death in 1987.   She attended High School at Pompano Beach High School in Pompano Beach, Florida, and Broward Community College and Florida Atlantic University.  She graduated from college with degrees in Education, Music and Nursing.  She attended the First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, Florida for many years where she sang in the choir.  Singing, playing piano and organ were many of the gifts that Ina was blessed with.

Survivors include five children, Carol Lynn Anderson and her husband Robin, Kevin Kenneth Miller and his wife Olga, Craig Wilson Miller and his wife Grace, Peter Hamilton Miller and his wife Dawn, and Jill Ann Lovins and her husband Jeff; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She loved her family and the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart.  She faced trials of life the best she could and her children loved her very much.  Ina's beautiful smile and joyful laugh will be dearly missed.  Her children will always be eternally thankful for having a mother who faithfully took them to church when they were young and encouraged them to trust in the Lord Jesus.  Forever they will always love their mom and will remember her with joyful memories.

"But our citizenship is in heaven.  And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." Philippians 3:20-21.

Graveside services will be held in Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery, Kibbee, at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, with Mr. Robin Anderson officiating. Sammons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
