Mr. J. L. Hutcheson, age 71, beloved husband of Ruby Jean Cowart Hutcheson of Soperton passed away at their home on Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2019.

A native and lifelong resident of Treutlen County, he was the only son and the youngest of two children born to the late Albert and Allene Meeks Hutcheson.   Early in his life, Mr. Hutcheson worked with the State Highway Department. In 1967 he started working with Federal Pacific Electric in Lyons where he served as a Painting and Plating Technician and Supervisor before retiring in 2001.

Mr. Hutcheson enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and reading his Bible. He was a people person and if he met a stranger; within minutes they were a new friend.

Mr. J. L. was a member of Zaidee Advent Christian Church.

He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Ruby Jean Hutcheson, Soperton, GA, their children, Ricky Hutcheson (Melanie), Soperton, GA, Sarah Hutcheson Phillips Barwick (Jim L.), Soperton, GA, Joseph Hutcheson (Jenna), Ailey, GA, his sister, Ellene Hutcheson Fowler, Soperton, GA, six grandchildren, Breannah Hutcheson, Christopher Drew Phillips, Sierra Juanita Phillips, Landon Hutcheson, Jacey Hutcheson, Brody Hutcheson, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Dale Wilkerson officiating.

Mr. Hutcheson will be laid to rest in the Hutcheson Family Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, Ricky and Joseph Hutcheson, son in law, Jim L. Barwick, grandsons, Drew Phillips and Landon Hutcheson and a nephew, Shane Griffin.

His family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
