Mr. J. W. Smallpiece, Jr., age 88, of Ailey died Monday, March 14, 2016, at Meadows Park Health and Rehab, Vidalia.

Mr. Smallpiece was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Smallpiece, Sr. and Julie Bell Nabb Smallpiece, and son, Carl Smallpiece. He was a retired farmer and logger and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church, Kibbee.

Survivors include his daughter, Carol Foskey of Ailey, and grandson, Stacy Smallpiece of Ailey.

Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, with the Reverend H. G. Ridgdill officiating. Burial was in Nabb Cemetery, Montgomery County.
