Obituary

Mr. Jacky Albert "Jack" Spivey, age 61 of the Rockledge Community passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Born in Dublin, he was the youngest of three children born to the late Alver "Sidney" Spivey and Shelby Jean McLendon Spivey.  He attended East Laurens High and was a member of the graduating class of 1980.

Jack was a craftsman and knew no boundaries for his creativeness.  He had worked with various employers in the Dublin and the Wrightsville areas to include:  J. P. Stevens, the Garden Gate and Kroger Florist, Holox Gas, Teena Ironworks and ProAir.  He was happiest when he was allowed to open his mind and exercise his creative abilities.  While working with Teena Ironworks, he was responsible for development and implementation of robotic design projects.

He enjoyed carpentry, figuring out a fix for anything broken, any outdoor activities and yardwork.

He had been a longtime member at the Rockledge United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: a brother, Alver "Al" Sidney Spivey, Jr and his father-in-law, Buddy Kennedy.

Jack leaves behind his wife: Lisa Kennedy Spivey, their son, T. J. Spivey (Alisha), East Dublin, GA, their daughter, Kimberly Salter (Spencer), Adrian, GA, his sister, Kathy Moseley (Blandon), East Dublin, GA, a special grandson, Jaxson Spivey, his mother-in-law, Jean Kennedy, East Dublin, GA, brother- in- law, Sonny Kennedy (Bonny), Louisville, TN, sister- in-law, Estelita Spivey, Rockledge, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastors Barron Powell, Josh Wood and Jim Yeomans officiating.

Mr. Spivey will be laid to rest in the Thigpen Cemetery, Rockledge, GA.

Serving as active pallbearers will be:  Matt Moseley, Michael Moseley, Jim Spivey, Greg Glover, Joey Hadley and Sonny Kennedy.

Serving as honorary escorts will be:  Katie Drew, Jessica Morris and Chip Grimsley.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, at the funeral home or friends and family may call at the home of Blandon and Kathy Moseley.
