Mr. James Robert "Red" Calhoun, age 71 of the Lothair Community of Soperton passed away at Community Hospice in Vidalia on Saturday morning, October 12, 2024.

Born in Polk County, Florida, he was the fifth of six children born to the late Warren Greeley Calhoun and Maude Alexander Calhoun.  As a young child the family moved to Treutlen County where he grew up and attended the Treutlen County public school system.  "Red" was skilled in and worked in various trades.  He had worked as a Mechanic, Concrete Form Carpenter and Electrician before entering the Glass Business.  He was a Glazer and Installer; working for Ricks Glass of Adrian and Tri State / Morgan Window in McRae where he worked for approximately twenty years.

His attention to detail and meticulous nature lent itself to his craft hobbies of building collectibles from kitchen match sticks and designing projects using saw cut lumber.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Carolyn Calhoun and Howard Dean Calhoun.

"Red" leaves behind a daughter, Tara Lann (Chris), Orianna, GA, a son, Dusty Calhoun, Lothair Community of Soperton, GA, a sister, Myra Calhoun Fountain, Vidalia, GA, two brothers, Warren Larry Calhoun, Soperton, GA, Kenneth Lee Calhoun (Sandra), Tifton, GA, a grandson, Hunter Lann and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Calhoun will be laid to rest adjacent to his parents in the Red Bluff Church Cemetery in Treutlen County.
