Obituary

Mr. James Arthur Conner, age 76, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Monday evening, April 21, 2025 at the home of his daughter in Adrian.

Born in Quitman, Mississippi, he was the eldest of nine children born in his family.  After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served, unselfishly, in the Vietnam Conflict; being honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.

Upon returning stateside, Mr. Conner joined the Ringling Brothers Circus in New York City where he was a Circus Performer, entertaining literally thousands, through his many years of worldwide travel with the circus.

He later settled in Las Vegas where he joined the well-known act of Siegfried and Roy.  While with Siegfried and Roy, they performed for many years at the Mirage, Stardust Resort and the New Frontier Hotel and Casino.  They also traveled to and performed in Japan and other European destinations.

Upon his retiring from show business, Mr. Conner provided transportation to visitors of "The City That Never Sleeps"; providing his fares with inside stories and the history of the famed Las Vegas Strip, while making certain that they arrived to their destinations safely or made their airline connections in a timely manner.

Mr. Conner's flag draped remains have been returned to his beloved Las Vegas where his funeral services will be conducted and he will be laid to rest in the Veteran's Cemetery with military honors.

Another of "The Greatest Generation" has gone home.
